Berlin’s original Videokunst Club, Visual Berlin reflects the richness of the city. With members from nine countries it is a diverse family bound together by a shared commitment to the progression of the projected image. Founded in 2005 the collective has become an institution in Berlin with members specializing in everything from underground party visuals to hardware-hacking, programmed arts, experimental performance and media philosophy. The group includes established local VJs as well as internationally renowned artists and AV performers who collectively illuminate countless venues and stages across Berlin every week.

Since 2003 members of Visual Berlin have hosted international artist meetings and exchanges, promoting a network of dialogue and support across the global visual community. In 2010 they proudly present their third installment in one of the city’s most fascinating industrial spaces: the legendary Tresor complex.

Want to get involved with the festival? VisualBerlin is looking for volunteers to lend a hand at our event!

This whole festival is organized by people out of sheer love for the artform. Everybody involved is working for free to make this a special weekend, however we are only so many. So what is with this EditShare thing?

In August 2009 the dutch company EditShare acquired the Lightworks editing platform from Gee Broadcast (together with their video server system Geevs).

At the annual convention of the National Association of Broadcasters, NAB Show, on 11 April 2010 EditShare announced that they are going to transform Lightworks into Lightworks Open Source.

State of play with respect to final BUG

So we are taking a summer break here at final BUG, We will be back in Autumn we more fcp brain storming.

Being more or less the engine here at final BUG, Paul has been rather busy. Not to mention the little trip to Shanghai and the new job and and all that.  Time to let the dust settle. Have a great summer. And if you have any suggestions for contributions etc please feel free to let Paul know. Or if you can help him to move the Blog from Wordpress to something like MovbleType. Wordpress has horrible security issues with worms all over the place!

Final BUG returns once again after a brief sabbatical

This months meeting is on the second Tuesday of the month.

Dear final BUG members

Time for the biggest challenge of the final BUG calendar!

This is as near as we get to being a group as such.

We attempt to coordinate a meal together.

The workflow is as follows

1) Check you´re calendar to see what you are doing on the 03.12.08 from 1800 hours onwards.
2) If necessary change / cancel previous appointments to accommodate final BUG dinner.
3) Think about what you would like to cook?
4) Don´t forget that good food usually tastes better with a good bottle of wine!
5) Take a minute to post in the comment section what you are planning on bringing this helps other members of the group plan what to bring.
i.e. helping us avoid the worst case scenario where we have 20 turkeys
6) Even if you can´t make it consider the possibility of writing a comment wishing members a happy christmas and prosperous new year
