EditShare Road Show : German Tour

So what is with this EditShare thing?

In August 2009 the dutch company EditShare acquired the Lightworks editing platform from Gee Broadcast (together with their video server system Geevs).

At the annual convention of the National Association of Broadcasters, NAB Show, on 11 April 2010 EditShare announced that they are going to transform Lightworks into Lightworks Open Source.

17 & 18 of May teltec have announced a world wide premiere!

They will be showing a workflow involving a 3D camera, FCP, Dashwood Stereo 3D Toolbox & Cineform Neo 3D.

To round things up material at the event will be displayed on a 3D Production monitor BT-3DL2550!

Paul will be continuing his overview of Final Cut, looking at the different types of edits, working with layers, filters, text elements & Master Elements.

We will be taking a look at a workflow using RED 4k material, Color, FCP & an AJA Io Express. Monitoring on a good old fashioned CRT HD monitor.

Editing in FCP, Color correcting the original R3d files in Color, Sending to FCP and rendering out as Prores 4444.

By the way Professor Paul Paulson from the Media Academy of life will now be starting a new series about “Visual Story Telling”

Lighworks becomes Open Source!!!

This one is huge.

One of the original and best editing systems of all time is becoming open source!

Which means that people get the code and get to develop stuff.

Details slightly hazy at present but it looks as if developers then sell back to Edit Share.
